Moderated by Killer Films Co-Founder Pamela Koffler

Maryam Touzani was born in Tangier. After closely participating in MUCH LOVED and co-writing RAZZIA with Nabil Ayouch—in which she also starred—she directed her first feature, ADAM, selected at Cannes (Un Certain Regard) and Morocco’s official Oscar® submission. In 2022, she directed THE BLUE CAFTAN, also selected at Cannes, and shortlisted for the Oscars®—a historic first for a Moroccan film. It won over 60 awards worldwide and achieved the highest international box office takings ever for a Moroccan film. In 2023, she was a member of the Official Competition jury at the Cannes Film Festival. Her latest film, CALLE MALAGA, a Spanish-language drama starring Carmen Maura, will be released in 2025.

Pamela Koffler is an Independent Spirit Award winner who co-founded indie powerhouse Killer Films with partner Christine Vachon in 1995. Over the past three decades, they have produced over 100 films, including some of the most celebrated American indie features: CAROL, FAR FROM HEAVEN, STILL ALICE, BOYS DON'T CRY, KIDS, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, I SHOT ANDY WARHOL, and I'M NOT THERE. In television, Koffler executive-produced the Emmy and Golden Globe-awarded miniseries Mildred Pierce for HBO as well as Z: The Beginning of Everything for Amazon Studios. Most recently, Koffler produced the upcoming releases A GOOD PERSON, directed by Zach Braff and starring Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman, as well as Rebecca Miller’s SHE CAME TO ME, starring Peter Dinklage, Marisa Tomei, and Anne Hathaway.
