Catherine Scorsese graduated from NYU film school and began working as an assistant to an executive producer at Children’s Television Workshop, creators of Sesame Street and other memorable children’s programming. Catherine began a 30+ year journey in the art department for feature films, working as prop person and set dresser on CASINO, THE AVIATOR, THE DEPARTED, MUSIC AND LYRICS, SHUTTER ISLAND, The Sopranos, and Boardwalk Empire, among others. Her passion for children’s literature lead her to executive produce the animated Christmas special The Elf on a Shelf, An Elf's Story, already on its way to becoming a Christmas classic. She serves as an advisor to the Millburn Arts Advisory Committee, dedicated to nurturing young artists and filmmakers at the middle and high school levels.
