David Weir is Emeritus Professor of Comparative Literature at the Cooper Union, New York, and Distinguished Visiting Scholar with the Decadence Research Unit at Goldsmiths, University of London. His books include Decadence: A Very Short Introduction (2018), Decadence and Literature (edited with Jane Desmarais, 2019), and The Oxford Handbook of Decadence (also edited with Desmarais, 2022), as well as two volumes in the BFI Film Classics series: TROUBLE IN PARADISE (2021) and IL GATTOPARDO (THE LEOPARD) (2024).
