(1969) On the island of Fårö, solitude-seeking Max von Sydow finds himself involved with cynical couple Bibi Andersson and Erland Josephson and high-strung widow Liv Ullmann, with major events seemingly transpiring between scenes, a memorable dinner sequence, and intercut analyses of their roles by the actors.
