Outreach and Marketing Internship
Spring 2023

This position will provide exposure to the inner workings of a nonprofit art house movie theater, and offer interns the opportunity to make contributions to Film Forum’s audience development efforts. The outreach and marketing intern will work closely with FF’s communications and programming teams on grassroots outreach campaigns with the goal of reaching new audiences. Candidates should be currently enrolled undergraduate students, and be able to work 10-12 hours a week over 2 shifts Monday through Friday.  The intern will report to the Premieres and Marketing Associate.
 
Duties:

  • Spearhead outreach research for premieres and repertory programs, in collaboration with FF outreach team and film distribution teams.  
  • Contact select organizations on behalf of FF and follow up with a goal of brokering group sales, cross-promotion in newsletters and on social media, and meaningful partnerships.
  • Maintain and update extensive outreach contact spreadsheet.
  • Maintain and update community film festival data sheet
  • Visit partner sites in person to deliver postcards or other promotional materials
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings to discuss status and future outreach.

Misc:

  • Quality-check screening of archival and digital film prints (once or twice weekly @ 10am)
  • Proof text for FF website, program calendars, and press releases.
  • Clip and archive press, as needed.
  • Scan program calendars and enter historical program data for archiving
  • Assist with special events as needed (according to schedule availability)
  • Communicate consistently with supervisors re: status of projects.

Qualifications:

  • College student (must provide validation of enrollment in a degree-seeking program)
  • Ability to adapt to varying work flow and follow through on completion of tasks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience / high engagement with multiple social media platforms
  • Previous office experience preferred
  • Photoshop/graphic design skills a plus
  • Ability to work primarily in person / in-office

Compensation and Benefits:

  • A stipend of $3000
  • Subway fare
  • Free admission to FF movies and free popcorn, coffee, and soda during internship
