AXS Lab is dedicated to empowering people living with disabilities through media and technology. For over 16 years, AXS Lab has produced award-winning films and tools that amplify the voices of people living with disabilities, using storytelling, community engagement, and technology to spark dialogue and promote equity and inclusion, especially for historically marginalized communities. Their work includes the acclaimed documentary films WHEN I WALK and WHEN WE WALK, along with PREDICTING MY MS (PBS/NOVA) and other shorts featured by The New York Times. In 2012, they launched AXS Map, a free, crowd-sourced tool for rating accessibility, now active in 200+ cities. Its Mapathon component engages communities to expand access in arts, culture, and everyday spaces.
