Film archivist Robert Furmanek has played an important behind-the-scenes role in film preservation for more than forty years. Among his achievements, he is recognized for his restoration work with the films of Abbott and Costello and Jerry Lewis. In 1990, he began his ongoing efforts to save and restore our stereoscopic film heritage. At one time, the 3-D Film Archive held the world's largest collection of vintage 35mm stereoscopic film elements. Since 2014, the Archive has released over thirty acclaimed restorations on Blu-ray. They include The Abbott and Costello Show, 3-D RARITIES, IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE, REVENGE OF THE CREATURE, FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN and THE MAZE.
Jack Theakston is an Associate Producer with the 3-D Film Archive. His unique expertise in film exhibition formats and vintage color processes, such as Technicolor and Cinecolor, has been an invaluable tool in the Archive's digital arsenal of specialized restoration work. Jack is also a certified union projectionist in New York City and has recently presented THE BRUTALIST and OPPENHEIMER in 70mm.
