Rare tinted 16mm Kodascope print

♪ Live Piano Accompaniment by Steve Sterner

Based on the play by Oscar Wilde.

Starring May McAvoy (as Lady Windermere), Ronald Colman, Irene Rich

(1925, Ernst Lubitsch) May McAvoy’s long-lost and now-notorious mom Irene Rich returns, but demands money from her aristocratic son-in-law for her silence, then tries to stymie Lord Ronald Colman’s designs on her daughter – but there’s that darn fan to be accounted for. Witty visual storytelling makes up for the absence of Oscar Wilde’s epigrams. 16mm. Approx. 60 min.

Presented with support from the R.G. Rifkind Foundation Endowment for Queer Cinema and the Ada Katz Fund for Literature in Film.
