SLEEPING BEAUTY was the most ambitious animated feature Walt Disney ever undertook. While returning to familiar fairy tale territory, he wanted the film to look and sound different from anything the studio had ever done before. So it was filmed in widescreen Technirama and recorded in stereophonic sound: its songs were adapted from the works of Tchaikovsky, and it was designed, in large part, by the modern artist Eyvind Earle.
