Tuesday, May 28
The film world lost a great friend this past February with the passing of Ron Hutchinson (1951-2019), co-founder of The Vitaphone Project and a key figure in the rediscovery, restoration, and preservation of early sound vaudeville and music shorts. Ron’s eloquent introductions were highlights of our quarterly repertory calendar for 23 years. This tribute includes all-time favorites of both Ron and our audience: Shaw & Lee, Baby Rose Marie, Jimmy Conlin and Myrtle White, Burns & Allen, and many others. Plus tributes to Ron from friends and family. 35mm prints courtesy UCLA Film Archive, Library of Congress, and Warner Bros. Approx. 100 min.
