Louis Lemkow is the son of Mai Zetterling and Tutte Lemkow. He was born in Sweden, educated in the UK and has lived and worked in Catalonia since 1975. He is an academic at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) researching on the interface between society and the environment. Trained in sociology, environmental science and geography Louis has worked on environmental and technological risks and the impact of social and environmental inequalities on health and wellbeing. He was Director of the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA) and Vice President of the UAB. Louis was a visiting scholar at Cornell University. He is politically engaged and continues to be involved in peace, human rights and environmental activism.
