Paul Zaentz has had a long career as a producer, including on several Academy Award-winning films. In 1976, he was one of the founders of The Saul Zaentz Company, which produced Miloš Forman's Amadeus (Academy Award for Best Picture, 1984), Peter Weir’s THE MOSQUITO COAST (1986), Philip Kaufman’s THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING (1988), Héctor Babanco’s AT PLAY IN THE FIELDS OF THE LORD (1991), Anthony Minghella’s THE ENGLISH PATIENT (1996), and Miloš Forman’s final film, GOYA'S GHOSTS (2007). Together with Sidney Pollack. Paul co-produced Anthony Minghella’s THE TALENTED MR RIPLEY (1999). He recently produced the documentary feature Coup 53, about the USA/UK 1953 coup d’état in Iran, co-produced the documentary WE ARE MANY, about Bush administration propaganda prior to the invasion of Iraq, and produced the Netflix series Ratched, a prequel to ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST. He is currently is working with Brazilian director Katia Lund on a film about women's rights in Pakistan, a series about Prince Albert, and a limited series based on THE ENGLISH PATIENT.
