Starring Liv Ullmann and Erland Josephson

(1976) Psychiatrist Liv Ullmann, alone for the summer, finds herself in the midst of a nervous breakdown that triggers a suicide attempt and series of dreams/hallucinations taking her back to an orphaned childhood, until colleague Erland Josephson (Scenes from a Marriage) helps her find reconciliation. Winner, Golden Globe, Best Foreign Film. Released in the U.S. in an 114-minute theatrical version, Bergman’s complete 173-minute version has never been released here on DVD or Blu-ray.
