ROMEO AND JULIET - Cancelled

12:30

Monday, January 18

We regret that we must cancel the scheduled screenings of Franco Zeffirelli's ROMEO AND JULIET on Sunday and Monday due to poor print quality.
In its place, we are screening the following films:

SUNDAY, JANUARY 17
1:20:   Franco Zeffirelli’s THE TAMING OF THE SHREW (1967) with Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton
4:00:   Orson Welles’ MACBETH (1948) [restored director’s cut] with Welles, Jeanette Nolan
7:00:  Roman Polanski's MACBETH (1971) with Jon Finch, Francesca Annis

MONDAY, JANUARY 18
12:30:   Zeffirelli’s TAMING OF THE SHREW (1967) with Taylor & Burton

Directed by Franco Zeffirelli

(1968) With typically ravishing production values (Oscars for Photography and Costumes), Nino Rota’s haunting score, in-Italy location shooting, and the age-correct casting of Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting as the lovers– plus John McEnery’s standout Mercutio – Zeffirelli created the most commercially successful adaptation of the Bard ever. 35mm studio archive print. Approx. 138 min.
