Directed by Ingmar Bergman
Starring David Carradine, Liv Ullmann, and Gert Fröbe
(1977) Berlin, 1923: trapeze artist David Carradine returns to his hotel room to find his brother an apparent suicide. And as the corpses pile up, Inspector Gert Fröbe (Goldfinger) investigates and ex-sister-in-law Liv Ullmann dances in a cheap cabaret. An homage to 20s silent expressionism, this was Bergman’s first work in his self-imposed exile to Germany. In English. DCP restoration courtesy Swedish Film Institute. Approx. 120 min.
