Purchase Artwork by Cindy Sherman, Support Film Forum
We are honored that Cindy Sherman — world-renowned artist, filmmaker, avid cinephile, and a member of our board — has generously offered Film Forum the opportunity to sell a new work of art to benefit our nonprofit cinema.

“I shot it 30 years ago when I was working on some fashion images and this was an outtake. While I really liked this particular image, at the time felt it was too pretty and wound up choosing a different version for that series. But years later when I accidentally made a b/w version of it, it reminded me of the series I was working on at the time, which were based on aging silent film stars. And it looked more like an outtake from a silent movie. In printing it this time I didn’t want to go strictly b/w but drained most of the color from it to give it an ambiguous feeling, neither then nor now.”

We have a framed print (2/50) of the work available for viewing weekdays, in our offices. Prices available upon inquiry. Please note that while we are a nonprofit, this is art work for sale, not a tax-deductible gift. Proceeds from sales will go directly to support Film Forum’s programs. Many thanks.
