STEVE STERNER SELECTS…
Since 1987, the indefatigable Steve Sterner has been Film Forum’s resident silent film composer/accompanist, creating scores for over 300 movies and performing for us well over 1,000 times. To celebrate his 35th anniversary playing for silent movies, we’ve asked Steve to select some of his own personal favorites. Following the screening of A Hero for a Night on October 16, Film Forum repertory director Bruce Goldstein will talk with Steve about his working methods and multiple careers (actor, singer, composer, musical director, arranger, conductor, and puzzlemeister), with audience Q&A.
