Mario Cantone will introduce the Wednesday, June 29 7:30 show of The King of Comedy.
Cantone is a celebrated standup comedian and actor, whose credits include Sex and the City, Comedy Central roasts of Joan Rivers and Denis Leary, Chappelle’s Show, and guest co-host spots on ABC’s The View.
He has also appeared on Broadway in award-winning productions like Love! Valour! Compassion!, the 2004 review of Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins, and his one-man show, Laugh Whore, for which he received a Tony nomination for Best Special Theatrical Event and an Outer Critics Circle nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance. The latter show was also broadcast on Showtime, the first Broadway production to air as a comedy special on the network.
