THE THIEF OF BAGDAD introduced by Tracey Goessel

4:30  7:30

Sunday, December 6

Both shows introduced by Tracey Goessel, author of the new book The First King of Hollywood:  The Life of Douglas Fairbanks (Chicago Review Press), available at our concession today.  Ms. Goessel will sign books in the lobby following the screening.

TRACEY GOESSEL is on the board of directors of the San Francisco Silent Festival and founder of the Los Angeles-based Film Preservation Society, which has funded the preservation and restorations of Mr. Fixit, The Half Breed, and The Good Bad Man. A restoration of The Three Musketeers is currently underway. The nonprofit Film Preservation Society is also planning The Biograph Project: to restore and reunite all the D.W. Griffith Biographs.  Ms. Goessel has published numerous articles on silent film history and has lectured widely on Douglas Fairbanks. She is a major collector of silent film ephemera, and her purchase of the Pickford-Fairbanks love letters started an eight-year quest to write the definitive biography of America's favorite swashbuckler.
