6:00

Wednesday, April 26

UPDATE: James Sewell will no longer introduce the 6:00pm show of Titicut Follies. Leonard Pickett, longtime Saturday Night Live bandleader and composer of the Titicut Follies ballet, will now introduce the screening.

On Wednesday, April 26, Lenny Pickett, composer of the new Titicut Follies ballet, will introduce the 6pm show.

Lenny Pickett began his career playing saxophone and clarinet in bars and on the street. He toured with the Tower Of Power through the 70’s and he worked with David Bowie, The Talking Heads, Laurie Anderson, and others during the 80’s. He has composed music for dance and theater (including the opera “Welfare”, with Fred Wiseman), and he has also contributed compositions for recordings by Alan Ginsberg and William Burroughs. His music has been performed by The Kronos Quartet, The New Century Saxophone Quartet, The Borneo Horns and others. He is currently the bandleader for NBC’s Saturday Night Live, where he has worked since 1985. He also teaches in the Jazz Studies Program at NYU.
