Alejandro Loayza Grisi (1985) is a Bolivian filmmaker whose artistic career began with still photography. As a director of photography, he worked on the documentary series PLANETA BOLIVIA, and many short films such as AICHA, DOCHERA and POLVO. Grisi made his feature debut with UTAMA, which had its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize in World Cinema Competition. It is Bolivia’s submission for Best International Feature at the 2023 Academy Awards.
Santiago Loayza Grisi (1984) is a Bolivian producer and CFO at Alma Films. Since 2009, he has produced more than 100 audio-visual projects including documentaries, commercials, music videos and three feature films. Most recently, Santiago produced UTAMA which had its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize in World Cinema Competition. It is Bolivia’s submission for Best International Feature at the 2023 Academy Awards.
