Introduced by Black Film Space Co-Founder Lande Yoosuf

Black Film Space is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the careers of Black filmmakers. Our mission is to provide skill-enhancing opportunities, community building experiences and knowledge on navigating the film industry for people of African descent. We host events that include film screenings, panels, networking mixers, professional development workshops, skill sharing and open forums. Our goal is to contribute towards an equitable film industry that recognizes Black storytellers.

Lande Yoosuf is a Brooklyn born and based Nigerian-American novelist, screenwriter and filmmaker. She previously had a career in development, casting and production in reality TV for 13+ years. Since becoming the founder of Black Film Space, Lande has directed three short films all of which have received contest and festival recognition as well as distribution. She’s served as a host, workshop facilitator, speaker and moderator for events with organizations like ARRAY, HBO, ABFF, The Root and many others. Her speaking engagements received coverage from outlets such as The New York Times. Lande earned a Bachelors of Arts from Brooklyn College in Television and Radio.
