One of the most versatile and recognizable actors working today, J.K. Simmons has appeared in movies, television and on and off-Broadway. He won the 2015 Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of the merciless drum instructor in Damien Chazelle's WHIPLASH, which also won him Screen Actors Guild, Golden Globe, Independent Spirit, and BAFTA Awards, among many others. He was also Oscar®-nominated for his portrayal of William Frawley (I Love Lucy’s Fred Mertz) for the 2021 biopic BEING THE RICARDOS. Among his most best-known roles are gruff newspaper editor J. Jonah Jameson in the SPIDER-MAN trilogy and off-beat dad Mac McGuff in the hit comedy JUNO.
Mr. Simmons’ recent movie credits include THE UNION, RED ONE, SNL 1975, JUROR #2, 21 BRIDGES, THE SNOWMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE, and PATRIOT’S DAY. Past films include TERMINATOR: GENISYS, THE MUSIC NEEVER STOPPED, CONTRABAND, THE LADYKILLERS, THANK YOU FOR SMOKING, BURN AFTER READING, and UP IN THE AIR. His many television credits include PALM SPRINGS, Defending Jacob, The Closer, Oz, Law and Order, and Parks and Recreation.
Broadway credits includes Guys and Dolls, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, A Change in the Heir, Peter Pan and A Few Good Men.
