Factory worker Takeshi Sakamoto (early Ozu star of PASSING FANCY, A STORY OF FLOATING WEEDS, etc.), on the road with two sons—including Tomio Aoki (aka Tokkan Kozō, child star of I WAS BORN BUT…, etc.) —finds work and friendly widow Yoshiko Okada, but a sudden illness causes theft. Ozu’s last surviving silent movie — and one of the world’s last as well.
