Tuesday, December 1

(1929, F. Richard Jones) Bored post-the-Great War, Ronald Colman’s Drummond places a personal ad looking for diversion, “Excitement essential”, and then gets plenty of it, as he and Joan Bennett take turns getting caught and tied up by Montagu Love’s villainous Carl Peterson.  Menzies’ Academy Award-nominated art direction “violated perspective”. 35mm.  Plus Menzies-designed short Zampa (1930). 16mm. Approx. 100 min.
