I’M ALL RIGHT JACK

U.K., 1959
Directed by John Boulting
Starring Ian Carmichael, Peter Sellers, Terry-Thomas, Dennis Price
Based on Alan Hackney’s 1958 novel Private Life
WINNER BAFTA – Best British Screenplay, Best British Actor (Peter Sellers), 1960
Approx. 105 min. DCP.

Previously sheltered upper-class twit Ian Carmichael lands a job at his uncle’s Missiles, Ltd., where he rubs shoulders with scheming boss Richard Attenborough, playing-it-safe personnel manager Terry-Thomas, and Sellers’ truculent shop steward Fred Kite. Sellers’ performance won him a British Academy Award, beating out Richard Burton, Peter Finch, and Laurence Olivier!
