(1966, Alain Resnais) Spanish Communist operative Yves Montand barely gets through his identity check at the French border (a trip that flash-backs and –forwards make clear he’s made many times before), then, back in Paris, finds it hard to go through the motions of intrigue, even as he dallies with Geneviève Bujold and Ingrid Thulin. Semprún was Oscar-nominated for his screenplay. 35mm. Approx. 141 min.
