“I’m not running; I’m choosing.” Brooklyn high-schooler Alike (Adepero Oduye) lives with her parents and sister in a tense household. Alike (Lee) is carefully but confidently growing into her lesbianism with the support of her out best friend, Laura. But Alike’s mother’s growing suspicions of her daughter’s sexuality and her father’s quiet denial finally come to a head, forcing Alike to make some big decisions.
