Co-Presented by Girls Write Now
Saturday, August 6
7:40
Girls Write Now breaks down barriers of gender, race, age and poverty to mentor the next generation of writers and leaders. Together, the Girls Write Now community channels the power of voices and stories to shape culture, impact industries and inspire change. Dreams are universal; opportunity is not—especially during a crisis. Girls Write Now’s programs offer brave spaces, inspired curricula and a welcoming community that—now more than ever—are essential to the development of the next generation of leaders.
Lauren Cerand is a writer and public relations consultant who advises a wide range of authors, artists, creative professions and cultural organizations. She serves on the advisory board of Film Forum and is a past board chair of Girls Write Now. Poets & Writers has called her “a highly sought-after independent publicity guru who exudes an easy bookish glamour.” Her writing was most recently published in Northwest Review and inspired the Oregonian to call the magazine “ increasingly confident, intimate, essential. ”
Open to all! Come and meet one of New York's most dynamic arts organizations!
NOTE:This screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers recorded especially for our run. The Q&A is moderated by Ginou Choueiri, Film Programs Curator at ArteEast.
