(1975, Dean Hargrove) Chicken raiser and correspondence school private dick Gabriel Dell (erstwhile Dead End Kid) sets out to solve the murder of a local animal fetishist, in cult spoof of 40s Noir, with offbeat cast including former child star Jackie Coogan, Vincent Gardenia, the late Barbara Harris and Dell’s fellow Bowery Boy Huntz Hall. Following the screening, director and co-writer (with Dell) Hargrove – producer of hit TV shows including Columbo and Matlock – will be interviewed by Bruce Goldstein, with audience Q&A. DCP.
