Live vaudeville was once the leading form of American entertainment—until talkies killed it. But it was a training ground for movie icons like the Marx Brothers, Buster Keaton, Fred Astaire, Mae West, Eddie Cantor, Judy Garland, and even Cary Grant.  Film Forum’s Bruce Goldstein re-creates vaudeville’s golden age with an illustrated talk originally presented at this year’s TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood.
