Caraid O'Brien received three new play commissions from the Foundation for Jewish Culture for her translations of classic Yiddish plays. She performs in Yiddish and English, most recently in Sholem Asch's God of Vengeance. Presently, she is a translation fellow at the Yiddish Book Center, working on four plays by Sholem Asch. Every June 16th, she hosts Radio Bloomsday celebrating James Joyce's Ulysses on WBAI. She spent five years working with Seymour Rechtzeit on his archives. Her biography of Seymour and his wife actress Miriam Kressyn is forthcoming from Harvard Judaica.
